Louisiana Housing Authority (LHA) is a trusted private housing advocate initiative and resource provider. We are on a mission to increase homeownership, prevent foreclosures, and reduce veteran homelessness in Louisiana. LHA provides all-inclusive safe, affordable, clean group homes in New Orleans better known as “shared living homes” for Veterans who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness.

We are committed to collaborating with our community partners, case managers, social workers, discharged planners, faith-based organizations, community nonprofits, and real estate service providers to help reduce and end homelessness among our Veterans.

Our “Homes For Veteran Heroes” program provides all-inclusive, safe, affordable, clean housing options (i.e. rapid rehousing, transitional and permanent housing) to low-income/homeless veterans that receive SSI, SSDI, VA Disability, Vouchers from community non-profits, or other forms of secured payment.

Starting at $700 a month our veteran residents have access to a wide variety of housing services included in our flat monthly fee. These services include, but are not limited to:

Shared Living Homes Includes:

  • Clean Furnished Shared Living Rooms, Kitchens, Bathrooms, and Bedrooms
  • Beds, Linens, Dresses
  • Drug and Alcohol Free Environment
  • Access to Washer & Dryer
  • Access to Access to Landline Phone
  • Access to Computer Lab & WIFI
  • All Paid Utilities (i.e. electric, gas, water & trash)
  • Common Room with Cable TV or Firestick
  • Basic Household Items & Appliances
  • Near Public Transportation & Amenities
  • Shared rooms and Much More…

Also, we provide our residents with a list of resources to attain supporting services provided by outside self-sourced 3rd parties (i.e. U.S. Department of VA, if the resident is a Veteran, licensed home health services, community non-profits, etc.) These include:

  • Social Work
  • Employment Guidance
  • Money Management
  • Transportation
  • Medication Management
  • And Many Other Additional Supportive Services

We Offer Affordable Shared Living Housing to Veterans

Our veteran Group Homes in New Orleans and services are of the highest caliber in the Greater New Orleans and Surrounding Area due to our commitment to all-inclusive safe, affordable, clean shared living homes.

Demographics We’re Currently Serving:

We’re seeking to give back to those who have served by protecting them from the risk of homelessness. Many single Veterans may be interested in our housing solutions that can help cut down their costs since it’s income-driven, especially in our current real estate market. We offer multiple beds in safe residential homes to multiple Veterans. We don’t require credit checks are unreasonable income requires like property managers or landlords because we understand our Veterans are on a fixed income.

Disabled Veteran and Returning Veteran Housing

We have homes that are specifically set up for Veterans. We work directly with the VA, homeless shelters, community non-profits, and all affiliations of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines to ensure that our Veterans are provided with quality and safe housing upon return home.

Home Tour

Once the application & required documents have been reviewed, an in-person tour and consultation will be scheduled. (Must comply with COVID restrictions)

Final Interview & Approval Process

A rental agreement will be offered once the entire client application process is completed. Approvals are not guaranteed and are at the discretion of the property manager.
